A new Strike the Blood OVa volume was released recently and the series has always been reliable in its provision of pantsu and fanservice in general. Overall, the two new eps in this volume were fairly restrained, with some nice panties of varying styles, but little in the way of nudity.

Love Love? is a part of the suite of ecchi-related anime produced under the banner of Masters Of Entertainment (m.o.e) which at the forefront of exploiting late-night satellite television for the niche otaku market. They produced a series of short-episode anime series in the early 2000’s, some of which were interelated.
Love Love features characters and some plot elements with two of their other series, CosPrayers and Hit wo Nerae. As with all m.o.e series, it features gratuitous nudity, panty-shots and fetishistic elements aimed at moe-loving otaku!
We kick off with a bikini photo shoot at the beach, with careful camera work capturing some stunning features!
Then it’s panty-shots galore when we switch to school life! Thanks to some divine wind and clumsiness, a great range of panties are given screen time!
And here it is, the first proper titties and they are damn fine! I live the way this studio draws nipples!
Burn Up Scramble was the last entry in the Burn Up! franchise, a 12 episode series releases in 2004 with a different look at feel to the previous entries. Burn Up Scramble is emblematic of the female battle team genre of anime that was still booming at the start of 2004, using its working women and action settings to service fans with busty girls in mini-skirts, skimpy outfits, change rooms and panty shots. Suits me just fine!
Premise:
Set in AD. 2023, Tokyo the government is concerned about the increase in major criminal organizations, terrorists and other threats to the security of society. This leads to the formation of special extralegal police team from within the Metro Police Section 8 Branch called Warrior. Under their Commander, the team combines the talents of martial arts expert Rio Kinezono and skilled marksman and gun expert Maya Jingu. They are joined later by the shy Lilica Evette who uses her psychic powers to assist them in their crime-solving adventures. Later, the Police Council create obedient New Warriors to replace the original Warriors. These New Warriors are genetically modified humans with superhuman strength gained via drugs and based on data obtained from monitoring Rio and Maya’s missions.
Majokko Meg-chan (1974) was a an early and influential magical series with stylisms and plot devices that still reverberate in the genre today. Most notably, it was ahead of its time on the fanservice front. Many rightly reference Go Nagai’s Cutie Honey as the origin of fanservice and this series came a few months after it, inspired to create a magical girl series with a bit more of an edge.
While Go Nagai’s Cutey Hiney was overtly sexual and mature in appearance, the fanservice of this series is at the opposite end of the spectrum.
It’s young girl (probably 14 or 15) lead, Meg, is given the innocent and cute panty shot treatment and frequently depicted in transparent negligee showing her bra and panties. She is regularly harassed by the pranks of her younger siblings, who flip her skirt and otherwise rope her into revealing situations. While innocent on the surface, they’re still incredibly sexy. This is really one of the earliest prototypes for lolita fanservice!
Unfortunately it looks like censors got onto it by about halfway through the series – the panty shots suddenly deplete and her signature negligee becomes disappointingly opaque.
Right away, her descent to Earth includes blush-inducing panty-shots.
Her sleepwear gets a lot of attention throughout the series, revealing her simply white panties and bra.

While Go Nagai’s Cutey Honey certainly popularized the sexy girl archetype and a certain strand of fanservice, it certainly wasn’t the first anime series to feature sexiness. As far as I can tell, this is! Fushiga na Melmo aired in 1971 and is the story of a young girl who is given magic pills that can change her or others’ age and various other things. Her adventures throughout have morals about growing up and all the fun that goes with it.
When she uses the pills to age-up, the series accentuates this with a certain air of sexiness which is why I’d call it the first case of intended fanservice. There were panty shots and nudity before this but not sexual in nature.
Her first-age up is marked by a classic panty-shot and embarrassment! Also quite a nice ass for 1971 art quality..
And here it is! As far as I can find, the first female nipples in an anime bathing scene! Sadly it’s not repeated for the rest of the show.
It also features plenty of panty-shots of the young girls in Tezuka style.
Once a hot springs inn, now a boarding house with extraordinarily cheap rent, Yuragi-sou is virtually uninhabited save for a few peculiar residents. As rumor has it, it is haunted by a vile ghost which scares away all potential tenants. Therefore, it is the perfect refuge for Fuyuzora Kogarashi—a broke, homeless psychic seeking an affordable roof to stay under and ghosts to exorcise.
Kogarashi prepares for a face-off against the ghost, only to find out it is not as malicious as the rumors made it out to be. Instead, it is the ghost of a beautiful, silver-haired girl whose only recollection of her life before death is her name: Yuuna. Even more baffling is that the other tenants of Yuragi-sou not only are able to see Yuuna as well, but each has their own supernatural ability.
Amidst the chaos caused by his quirky fellow residents, Kogarashi attempts to uncover the regret that keeps Yuuna anchored to the world of the living, lest she become an evil spirit sentenced to spend her afterlife in hell.
