When I’m in Japan one thing it’s almost impossible to resist is art doujinshi from my favourite artists. My girlfriend and I have a good collection built up now so maybe it’s time to share!
This is a short art book by one of my favourite purveyors of bishoujo drawings: Akio Watanabe (aka Poyoyon Rock)! He’s been around now for many years as a doujinshi circle, then a popular eroge artist before being a well known character designer for anime such as the Monogatari series, Nurse Witch Komugi and more!
Poyoyon Rock’s art really grabs me with its simple yet vibrant colours. He definitely has a calling for lolicon and moe with many of his best designs being lolis and he tends to include related paraphernalia such as randoseru, school swimsuits, bloomers, etc – you name it and he’s got it covered!
This doujinshi, released back in 2012 (Winter Comiket) has that and more on full display so it’s a real prize in my collection. Some sample pages below:
