A reflection on all things lewd and lusty from the sphere of anime in 2019! Of course, this is all from my personal standpoint, so while I tried to represent a broad spectrum of fanservice, I’m sure I missed some highlights! Feel free to comment with your own thoughts!
On the whole it was a strong year, and I really enjoyed blogging its ecchi endeavours. While there were fewer hard-hitting ecchi that normal, there were many series that offered light fanservice like swimsuits, bathing and panty-shots to balance it out. I think I prefer it when more anime get into the spirit across all genres rather than concentrating it into a select few ecchi anime.
Loli continues to go into decline compared to when I first got into anime. It used to be that any self-respecting harem or ecchi would have an obligatory loli, but nowadays they’re only very minor (no pun intended) characters. The focus is skewed now to the maturer ladies, like teachers or even mothers! I don’t mind it, but I think having the best of both worlds for a balanced diet of ecchi is the best way!
Next year I’ll get to blog the whole year week-by-week, which will be a lot of fun! It’s already looking promising with some good ecchi content on the agenda! Stay tuned!
My Favourite Babes of 2019
Idol Sisters
Jet Girls is mostly known for its big-breasted ladies, but there are two characters who stand out from the crowd for being petit and flat – the idol sisters Dina and Ziyu! Their cute style, yuri-ish sexual overtones mean they steal the show whenever they appear!
Mum’s the word
If it seems like little sisters and lolis are out of fashion, then I guess we need to look elsewhere for fanservice: cue the sexy mom, Mamako! MILFs are not my cup of tea but, with her superb figure and sweet demeanour, this mother came close to converting me.
Imouto
There was at least one little sister who made a splash this year – Mizuha from HenSuki was the dark horse of the harem, shooting to first place in the last couple of episode and wowing audiences with some spicy underwear and topless selfies!
Natsuki (Val X Love)
Natsuki from Val X Love is an amazing mix of cute and sexy – with decent curves and growing boobs she’s on the cusp of adulthood, yet her taste in underwear still carries a sweet, childish innocence.
Mutsumi (Val X Love)
Mutsumi is ripe for the waifu picking, with a dynamite body a quiet and submissive persona. Thanks to Val X Lov’s ecchi credentials, we get to see her in all kinds of erotic situations..
Tamaki – the bait girl
Tamaki is the most mainstream contender, being from a popular Shounen series. Her whole role in the show seems to be to fulfill fanservice quota, so she is destined to always end up losing clothes or getting groped in one way or another. Her charming design, with adorable twintails is top notch and I love how she triggers puritanical SJWs.
Bow to your Sensei!
Probably the best out-right ecchi anime of the year was Nande Koko ni Sensei Ga, which puts a series of teachers in absurd lewd situations. Personally I wish the average boob size was a bit more realistic, I still have to appreciate the beautiful, sexy drawings from this series!
But it’s not just the tits that get a good showing, every teacher’s crotch gets a moment in the spotlight for us to admire!
Domestic Affairs
Domestic no Kanojo didn’t beat around the bush with some nicely animated sex scenes. Of course, they weren’t too explicit but still really nice!

Bathing

High School Harem rom-com, Bokuben isn’t primarily known for being an ecchi series, but when it gets the chance to put its leading ladies in the shower it really seizes the moment. Words don’t do these bodies justice, and the lack of steam is a massive plus!
Battles, babes, boobs, words that pretty much some up Ikkitousen. This year we were treated to a 3-part comeback OVA of sorts which featured a great onsen sequence. Uncensored nipples on full display here!
Azur Lane had a pretty great bathing episode. Despite it being heavily steamified, it was great for having so many girls flaunting their nudity, from the lolis to the hot babes, all bases were covered. If the blu-rays remove the steam it will go down in history! This shot was pretty unique for a bathing ep!
Jet Girls had a great bathing sequence where the girls nipples are brushing up against each other and has some nicely animated boob physics. This was like boob heaven.
The art of Skinship!
This bathing scenario was too sexy to leave out. Two girls sharing the bath and one of them starts some innocent breast-rub skinship only for it to escalate when her hand reaches ‘down there’.
Not to be outdone, Choyoyu has great animated breasts in this friendly rubbing session. What a touching moment!
In a rather unique form of girl-on-girl action, Sounan Desu Ka has two of its girls slide over each other’s cleavage in their bra and panties!
Sexy Swimsuits
Ah, Swimsuits, the fanservice essential! 2019 was packed with wondrous bikinis just barely containing burgeoning breasts and showing off curvaceous hips! Here’s some of my favourite stitches in no particular order:
Dumbbells went a step further with this stunning stripping sequence!
Fitness Females
The anime Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru? was full of fit females and it wasn’t afraid to prove it with gravure-esque shots of them in the nude!
The year of panties
Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne! certainly wasn’t an ecchi series but it managed to find the time for some light fanservice. It’s greeatest achievement was panty-shots of the adorable bloomer variety!
Panties had a strong showing in 2019, with some standout shows presenting a variety of ladies undergarments. Here’s Hataage! Kemono Michi with some suplex-delivered exposures!
Azur Lane also gave us plenty of panty-shots, especially during the action!
Then you have an anime that entirely revolves around panty-shots, Iya na Kao Sarenagara Opantsu Misete Moraitai! Season 2 aired this year.

Scarcity of loli
Sadly Loli got the short end of the stick this year, with scant offerings of little flat-chested girls. Azur Lane deserves recognition for its adorable lolis and the fact that it included them in its fanservice festivities!
I guess you could also count Eromanga-sensei, still on the cusp of lolihood!
Watashi, Nouryoku wa Heikinchi de tte Itta yo ne! featured a mega-cute loli in the 10-year-old inn keeper, but when she showed up in the bath, her advanced proportions made a real splash!

I love a good sexy, revealing outfit and with all the fasntasy anime going around at the moment, it’s a perfect setting for scantily clad ladies! Some mouth-watering examples:

I love girls with a perverted streak, or just ones who fall victim to the perversions of others. What lewdness did the girls of ’10 get up to?

Uncensorhsip shout-out
In a surprise move, Okaa-san Online opted to uncensor itself for blu-ray, clearly showing nipples. This is beyond what the source light novels ever showed, so kudos to the anime producers for going beyond the call of duty!
