One of the leading out-and-out ecchi TV anime, Girls Bravo certainly set a precedent, a harem anime less focused on the gently love stories of most visual novel adaptations and more on getting the girls naked and teased sexually. With less plot to get in the way it raised the bar for fanservice!
Yukinari Sasaki is an average high school student who is frequently ridiculed by girls to the point that he developed an allergic reaction to them. As a result, he breaks out in hives whenever he comes into contact with a female. One day, when he returns home from school, he is kicked into his bathtub by his neighbor Kirie Kojima, but is transported to Seiren (セーレン, Sēren, “Siren” in the Tokyopop manga translation), a mysterious world with a mostly female population. He befriends Miharu Sena Kanaka, who ends up following him to Earth. Other Seiren girls with various motives soon visit and join the household. They are taken on many adventures as Miharu discovers the wonders of Earth.

Onegai Twins got a summer holiday OVA special in 2004, delivering some tantalising fanservice of the show’s cuties!
Premise of Onegai Twins:
Maiku Kamishiro’s past has always been somewhat of a mystery to him. The only clue he has to who his family might be is an old photograph showing two young children, a boy and a girl, playing in a small pool outside of a blue house. In an attempt to find his family, he moves to this blue house and begins working as a programmer. He’s living a comfortable life until the day two very different girls show up at his door, both in possession of the same photograph, and both claiming to be his twin. With no way to prove who is a relative and who is a stranger, Maiku allows both girls to move in with him until they know for sure.
The promotional art focuses on the slight sex appeal of the main two girls!
Right off the bat we get a statement of intent, the two lead girls showing their cute petite bodies in one pieces!
Time to put another week behind us, sit back and look at some of the recent highs, lows and lewds in the world of anime, manga and all things weeaboo.
Pretty solid week in the end with the surprise release of Queens Blade Rebellion 2 giving us some nice nudity and somewhat kinky content! There was also more sexiness to be found in Arifureta’s second OVA special.
But the TV anime side of things put in a good effort as well with a pool episode from Seton Academy and some nice bathing in Darwin’s Game!
Unusually, it was actually the light novel and manga sphere that let us down this week – I didn’t come across any new releases with sufficient lewdness to bother!

Love the school’s swimsuit design (although it doesn’t seem like it would be very effective for actually swimming but whatever).
Hana Ichinose, a 17-year-old high school student who is not only introverted, but also insecure and timid, has just moved and will be attending a new school. To make her situation more difficult, Hana is a “slow start,” which means that she missed a year and worries about attending a class where everyone is younger than her.
Girls study at schools for modern shinobi. They dedicate their entire young lives to learning to become true shinobi, battling each other to polish their skills. And then one day, Asuka, whose grandfather is a legendary shinobi, encounters an ancient evil being named a “Youma” in the back alleys of Tokyo at Christmastime. Where there is light, there is shadow. Over 28 of the strongest and most well-endowed ninjas in history, both good and evil, will collide in a battle to determine true justice. And this deadly battle begins… right now.
Mai Hime was one of the first anime I ever watched fansubbed as it was releaed week-to-week so it has a special place in my heart. I remember it well, starting out as a fun series with moe characters and a good sense of humour only to rapidly descend into a tense and dramatic fight for survival as the girls end up in a kind of battle royal.
So, much like the subsequent Mai Otome, most of the fanservice can be found in the early frivolities before things get serious.
The lead character, Mai is quite the hottie and her rack has a well-earned reputation!
She ends up roommates with a strange young girl, Mikoto who ends up clinging to her like a little sister.
The first fanservice highlight comes with the infamous under.wear theft episode.
It starts out simple enough, with some tasty shots of the students at the pool.
Sexiest of them all is the cool but stylish Natsuki.
When they hit the change rooms they start to realise one-by-one that their underwear is missing. – Natsuki included.
After carefully crossing the school grounds trying to maintain composure, Natsuki happens across Mai, Mikoto and the show’s main male character, Tate. A tense situation is diffused when a divine wind raises her skirt for all to see, exposing her lower region to everyone but the audience (we’ll use our imagination!)

When the class goes to the beach, the elegant Shizuru’s popularity is pretty obvious by her doting fangirls.
The other thing that’s obvious is Natsuki’s damn fine body, especially when she’s interrupted taking off her motorbike outfit.
Later, her Mai and Mikoto go on a bit of a side story together in their swimsuits.
In one of the last peaceful moments of the series, the main characters hit up Karaoke in cosplay. The most notable one is Mai who rocks a sexy policewoman outfit. Dat ass!

That’s pretty much the end of the fanservice within the show itself, however it’s only just the beginning when you look at the special bonuses that came with each DVD release.
Mai gets a flashback to her in elementary school trying on her first bra and then a lovely shot of her all grown up as the sexy highschooler she is today.
We also get to see what Natsuki and Shizuru get up to when no one is watching. Shizuru has a thing for dressing her up in sexy lingerie and I don’t blame her at all.
Two of the other side characters get an erotic gravure-style shot.
Mikoto is the younger one of the bunch so they restrain the fanservice to panty shots, but I’ll take what I can get!
Plenty more fun to be seen with the characters bathing, in swimsuits and in bra and panties.
Some of my favourite shots deserve nice stitches. The art quality on these bonuses was great!

A special bonus features all the cast at the beach in an array of alluring swimwear.
Interestingly, the anime must have had a change in direction early in production as the original PVs advertised it with a different art style and with more of a focus on fanservice. Some snippets feature a panty-shot of Mai, and the girls in wet, see-through clothes while cleaning the pool. I kind of like this style!
Azur Lane is light on the fanservice lately but still has time for some inspiring glimpses.
Highschool DxD Light Novel Licensed
Yen Press has finally licensed the ecchi smash hit Highschool DxD light novel series! I am really happy to see more ecchi content getting official released and I’ll certainly be buying all the volumes!
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi Anime Announcement!
Really surprising news to everyone is that revenge-rape series Kaifuku Jutsushi is getting an anime adaptation! I guess they’ll have to cut some content but I hope they keep some raunchy and dark elements to it. Here’s a taste of what to expect (from the manga):
